1 Events Media Appoints Business Development Director
1 Events Media, the host of North West business exhibitions, networking events and awards, has appointed Jemma Taylor as its new Business Development Director.
Based at 1 Event Media’s head office in Blackburn, she will be responsible for the development of new customer relationships and will play a key role in promoting events such as the forthcoming E3 Business Expo.
“This is a senior post that demanded someone with great connections within the North West business community,” said 1EM managing director Mubarak Chati. “I had absolutely no doubt that Jemma was the ideal candidate. I’ve worked with her for many years, and her previous roles within HSBC and the Business Growth Service meant she had just the experience and contacts we needed. She’s going to be a great asset to us and I think we’re all looking forward to growing the 1EM brand over the course of 2016.”
Prior to joining the company, Jemma was Business Development Manager at the Business Growth Service, where she covered a wide region encompassing Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria. She was involved in major business support programmes including the Growth Accelerator Service and helped to provide leadership and management support for some of the region’s most successful SMEs. Before that, between 1997 and 2013, she held a variety of business-facing roles within HSBC UK.
“I was delighted to accept the position of Business Development Director at 1 Events Media,” she said. “Having been involved with the E3 Business Awards for the last two years as one of the judges, I know how passionate Mubarak is about ensuring that 1EM continues to grow and develop.”
Jemma joins 1EM during a period of steady growth. The company has doubled its workforce in the last twelve months and has launched a number of new projects that seek to foster links and collaboration between North West businesses and entrepreneurs.
The most imminent of these is the E3 Business Expo, which will be held on 3rd March 2016 at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. A one-day business-to-business trade exhibition, it will feature around 90 stands, speed networking sessions, a day-long programme of short seminars and free marketing clinics delivered by experts from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
“Our team offers a wide range of professional, value-adding events that will continue to make the North West a great place to do business,” said Jemma. “The E3 Business Expo is a key example; this is a great opportunity for business owners and senior decision makers to establish new contacts in a business-focussed environment.”
