Women’s Only Speed Networking Event in Blackburn

On Wednesday 30th October, 1 Events Media will host a business networking event in Blackburn which has specially been designed for women, comprising a half-hour ‘speed networking’ session and support from a panel of independent experts who specialise in helping small and medium sized enterprises to grow.

The event will be taking place at The Business Development Centre, Eanam Wharf, Blackburn, BB1 5BL and it will run from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

The women only events run alongside the company’s existing programme of general business networking sessions, which have been operating since 2010. The key difference is the format, timings and topics that are chosen to suit female delegates and to encourage the sharing of ideas, contacts and information.

Organised with support from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and The Chartered Institute of Marketing, an advisor from the UKTI will be on hand to deal with enquiries from companies interested in trading overseas, whilst an experienced Chartered Marketer will be available to answer questions on marketing

The ‘speed networking’ part of the event is a popular feature of the company’s networking events and provides a quick and efficient way of allowing delegates to meet and introduce themselves to as many potential new customers, partners and suppliers as possible.

“The women’s only networking event will provide a great opportunity for local businesses to build new relationships and to get answers to some of their most pressing concerns,” said 1EM Events Co-ordinator, Rosemina Mohamed.

“There are many women in the North West who are running businesses very successfully and there are many more with great business ideas that might just need a little help to get themselves started. It’s for people like these that the new sessions are being organised. Networking can be a very effective way for business owners and managers to spread the word and make new contacts, so we feel it’s really important that female entrepreneurs are able to take advantage of it in the same way as men. Women can and do attend our regular networking events but by setting up a programme that responds specifically to their needs, we hope to attract many more businesswomen who might not otherwise attend.”
