1EM Appoints New Business Development Director
The North West based business networking and coaching specialist, 1 Events Media, has announced the appointment of Shakeel Desai as its new Business Development Director.
Shakeel brings to the company considerable experience of managing successful small businesses. Backed by an honours degree in Business and IT, he began his career in the food and catering industry, building and growing a small chain of outlets over a period of five years. More recently, he has helped to transform the fortunes of a wholesale confectionery business, more than doubling its sales in just 18 months.
At 1 Events Media, he will assume responsibility for managing customer relationships, expanding the company’s existing range of services and managing new projects including the launch of a new business networking membership programme and the development of new publications.
“Shakeel offers us everything we were looking for in this latest phase of our expansion,” said 1EM managing director, Mubarak Chati. “In practical terms, he has excellent hands-on experience of owning small businesses and running them very successfully, so he has an intuitive understanding of the day to day challenges that SME owner managers have to face.
