Seminar to Highlight Business Security Innovations at E3 EXPO, March 2016

Managers looking for more effective ways to protect staff, premises and business assets will soon have the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in the security industry, courtesy of a free seminar taking place on 3rd March at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. Starting at 11:00am, the presentation has been organised as part of the E3 Business Expo.

The seminar, entitled ‘CCTV Doesn’t Work’ will be given by Steve Pearson, Chief Executive of the Lancashire based security specialist Remvox Global Communications Group. In it, he will consider the limitations of conventional CCTV and show how it can be combined with emerging technologies to create more proactive and cost-efficient security systems.

Explaining the key messages behind his presentation, Steve said: “CCTV is a valuable resource for businesses but, generally, its role has been one of gathering evidence after the fact. What it doesn’t do very well is actually stop crime as it’s happening. A CCTV operator can monitor a crime and report it to the police but it may be several minutes or longer before there’s a visible response in the ground.

“However, there are new technologies that mean existing CCTV systems can achieve much more. For example, if an operator also has access to an audio-intervention system, he or she can use remote speakers to address would-be criminals directly, alerting them to the fact that they are being recorded and that the emergency services are on their way. In this way, crimes can be prevented and losses avoided – and that’s a far better result than merely having video evidence of a theft, an assault or an act of vandalism.

“This is just one of many examples that we’ll be discussing at the E3 Expo seminar. We’ll also be looking at new intelligent security software and analytics, new camera technologies and some of the practical steps that businesses can take to protect themselves against crime.”

The E3 Business Expo is a one-day business-to-business trade exhibition. It is hosted and organised by 1 Events Media, which also runs the annual E3 Business Awards. Entry is free.

Managing director Mubarak Chati said: “The Remvox seminar should be fascinating – and relevant to all kinds of businesses, from shops to warehouses, offices to construction companies. Steve will be showing visitors the new technologies that are now available and how they can be used to protect staff, stock, equipment, vehicles and premises.”

Other seminars taking place at the Expo will address important issues such as marketing, new ICT solutions, business growth and support for international trade.
