Businesses Network in Bolton Valley
On Tuesday 24th September, 1 Events Media hosted the latest in its series of multicultural business networking events, which took the form of an evening session held at Spice Valley Restaurant in Bolton.
Attended by delegates from a diverse range of sectors such as the legal and financial services, food manufacture, security, web design and office furniture and supplies, the event featured a speed networking session and one-to-one support from experienced business support specialists.
The session was supported by the Chartered Institute of Marketing – which supplied two consultants to provide expert advice about marketing strategy, communications and social media – and by UK Trade and Investment, whose EU Projects Adviser alerted visitors to the free support that is available to companies wishing to enter new export markets or to expand their presence overseas. Mubarak Chati, director of 1EM’s sister company, 1 Business Enterprise was also on hand to provide advice about leadership development, coaching and other forms of business support.
“It was good to see so many different companies taking advantage of the event,” said 1EM director Shakeel Desai. “Not only were they working together to develop new ideas, contacts and alliances, they were also keen to take advantage of the free support that was kindly provided by UKTI and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, both of which have become regular supporters of these events.
“It was also very gratifying to hear a number of new success stories emerging – a strong sign that economic conditions are improving and that small businesses are once again expanding and creating new jobs and opportunities. We saw companies keen to talk to advisors about their new sales and export strategies, and we heard from local businesses such as Fazila Foods, which has just launched a number of new products, which look to have great potential.”
