Excellent Turn-out for Women’s Business Networking Programme

The launch of a new series of female-only business networking events, 1EM Networking for Women, took place yesterday (Thursday 21st June) at the Shahi Qila restaurant in Blackburn.

Organised by the North West based business networking and support specialist, 1 Events Media, the evening event featured a short business masterclass by Wendy Bowers, the President of the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire.

The event was attended by 33 female entrepreneurs from across the North West region, representing sectors as diverse as banking, consultancy, manufacturing, retail, food and the creative industries.

“We were very pleased by the turn-out for this first event in the series,” said 1EM’s Women’s Outreach Officer Rosemina Mohamed. “It was great to see so many women getting together in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, sharing ideas, making new contacts and really seizing the opportunity to develop new business.

“The delegates used the time very productively and many of them said that they’d been very impressed with Wendy’s presentation, which looked at business growth and the ways in which different companies have achieved it.”

Speaking at the event, Wendy Bowers said: “In business, women need to be able to talk and deal with anyone, but women’s networking events like this are a great place to develop confidence, to learn from others who have made the same enterprising journey, and above all, to be inspired.”
